Renee Hussey, MVB

Dr. Hussy has been obsessed with veterinary medicine ever since she was a young girl—she actually had aspirations of becoming a jockey before growing too tall by age 11! It was only a few years later, when Dr. Hussy was a mere 15 years old, that she started volunteering right here at Creature Comforts Animal Hospital. She’s been a part of the family ever since.

Dr. Hussy is a Las Vegas native, and started here at the clinic on a full-time basis during her high school years. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Las Vegas, then traveled to Dublin, Ireland to study veterinary medicine at University College Dublin. Dr. Hussy continued working here at Creature Comforts Animal Hospital during summer and winter breaks, and is now a full-time Associate Veterinarian! She has special medical interests in exotic-animal medicine and physical therapy; Dr. Hussy hopes to utilize physical therapy techniques for more and more of the hospital’s patients in the coming years.

Thanks to all of her traveling between the United States and Ireland, Dr. Hussy hasn’t been able to have her own pet for quite a while; she hopes to adopt her first dog very soon! For now, she contents herself by spending time with her mother’s horse, La’mare; her father’s cat, Spooky; and Moose, her sister’s large and drool-prone Cane Corso Mastiff.

When time permits outside of work, Dr. Hussy enjoys distance running, camping and hiking throughout Nevada, California, and Utah, and traveling abroad. Her favorite locales so far have been Rome and Lagos, Portugal.
