SURGERY

Are you feeling nervous about your pet’s upcoming surgery?

Bringing a family member in for an operation is never easy, regardless of whether they happen to have two legs or four. At Creature Comforts Animal Hospital, we want you to know we understand what you’re going through. That’s because we’re pet owners too. Each of us has experienced the uneasiness of surgery with our own animal companions. That’s why we go out of our way to ensure that every procedure performed in our clinic is as stress-free as possible. You can rest assured that your loved one will be in excellent hands with us.

 Pre-Surgical Care

Our process begins with thorough preoperative screening. This helps us to uncover and prepare for potential concerns so we can reduce the risk of complications for your pet. We’ll also develop a strategy for keeping your pet comfortable and pain-free — before, during and following surgery. We use the safest, most effective pain control medication and customize our approach to each individual patient.

Your Pet’s Surgery

Regardless of whether it’s a routine spay or neuter, or a more complex procedure, your pet’s surgery will be our highest priority. From the moment you arrive, we’ll be there to ease your mind and help keep your pet calm and relaxed. Any last-minute questions on your mind will be answered as we get your loved one settled in and prepared for surgery. We want you to feel comfortable leaving your cherished companion in our care.

Once safely sedated, our team will complete the procedure as efficiently as possible. As the doctor works, our dedicated care team will be present at all times, assisting with surgery and closely monitoring your pet’s wellbeing. Our surgical suite is outfitted with modern monitoring equipment which helps us track your companion’s vital signs and pain levels.

Minimal Invasive Laparscopic Surgery

We are able to offer our patients minimally invasive Laparscopic surgery.  Just like for people, with laparscopic surgery a tiny incision is made and a camera is inserted to allow surgery to be performed thru a small incision.  This means less incision to heal, less discomfort and a quicker recovery time for your pet.  Many surgeries can be performed this way, including spaying your pet.  Laparscopic surgery is also frequently used during internal organ biopsy procedures such as liver biopsies or for stomach tackings for breeds prone to bloat.

Discharge and Post-Surgical Care

When surgery is complete, we’ll gently relocate your pet to our recovery area. As the anesthesia begins to wear off, our staff will be there to offer comfort and reassurance. We want to make the experience as calm as possible. When you arrive for pick up, we’ll go over our aftercare instructions, including a plan for pain management. We want to ensure that your loved one recovers as quickly and comfortably as possible.

Pet surgery doesn’t have to be a source of anxiety, especially if you’ve got the right team in your corner. Contact us today and let’s discuss how we can help with all of your companion’s surgical care needs.

Everyone is kind and helpful, they make sure you're pet is comfortable and all needs are met. Kiwi love's going there and she makes sure everyone will give here the belly rubs she wants before she decided it's time to go home. The staff spoils her. Thank you for a great experience we received every time we come.

    very happy with this vet.
chose them as many rescued animals have been taken here for care.
staff always friendly and get my pup in and out on timely manner.
    prices affordable too.
took my pup as "squeeze in" the day she ate her new chewy toy.
    terrier terror!
dr franco saved me expensive diagnostics by thorough hands on exam. layla had no sign symptoms of distress. she instructed me on after care and just to watch for any pain, vomiting, etc.
    thankfully, no complications.
very happy with care, value received.

I’ve been a client with Creature Comforts for many years. This was my first visit with Dr. Franco, who is an excellent Vet. She was kind, thoughtful and took time to explain any concerns I had regarding my pets. Kudos to Creature Comforts for finding this gem!

This place has my absolute, 100% recommendation. We have a very dog aggressive German Shepherd who is even reactive to strangers on occasion. After being declined care by two other clinics, I was advised to try Creature Comforts. It’s been the best experience. From the second we got through the side door, we(and Jaeger) were treated with total respect and the best care we’ve ever received. Dr Gibson and staff let our Jaeger come back to the room and rest between exams and treatment so that he would not become overly stressed out. Because everyone was so calm and well equipped to handle the situation, Jaeger was calm as well.

I have full confidence in this clinic and the staff. And I can’t think them enough for how they handled our situation. Thank you, again and again ❤️
