DENTISTRY

Do you shy away from kisses and close cuddles with your animal friend due to bad breath?

Contrary to popular belief, foul breath isn’t something that all pet owners simply must learn to live with. In fact, it’s probably a sign that your pet is in need of dental care. Without adequate attention, your pet’s mouth can become a haven for dangerous bacteria. Over time, these bacteria can spread through the bloodstream and cause a number of other serious health problems. Left untreated, dental disease can even shorten your loved one’s life. The good news is, with the support and guidance of Creature Comforts Animal Hospital, you can prevent all of this.

Our professional dentistry services are designed to provide all the care and attention needed for a lifetime of healthy smiles. We offer both routine, preventative care to keep plaque and tartar at bay, as well as advanced treatment for existing oral conditions. Whether you’re stopping in for an annual dental exam and cleaning, or your pet needs a tooth extracted, we’ve got you covered.   All dental cleanings include full mouth radiographs just like your dentist would do for you.   Much of the dental disease your pet could be suffering from is below the gum line and not visible without radiographs.  We want to make sure if your pet has any painful disease below the surface we find and fix it.  Dental services include the use of safe, effective anesthetic, intravenous catheter and fluids, and constant monitoring to ensure patient safety.   Your pet’s well-being during anesthetic procedures is our top priority.  Our monitoring protocol goes above and beyond the normal standard of care.

Some of the signs of dental disease in companion animals include, but are not limited to:

  • Bad breath
  • Discolored teeth
  • Excessive drooling
  • Dropping food
  • Sudden disinterest in chew toys
  • Loss of appetite
  • Swollen or painful face
  • Pawing at the mouth
  • Yellow, broken, loose or missing teeth
  • Gums that are red, swollen or bleeding

If your animal friend is exhibiting any of these things, it’s time to schedule an exam. We can determine what the problem is and address it quickly, improving the prognosis for your loved one.

In addition to our professional dental care, we’ll also work closely with you to ensure that your pet’s teeth stay healthy and clean year-round. In between annual cleanings, it’s important to prevent plaque and tartar accumulation.  Brushing your companion’s teeth daily is great to do if possible.   Our experienced staff would be happy to offer demonstrations of the proper technique.  We realize for many pet parents brushing daily is not practical.  We can also give advice on various dental health products you can use to keep your pet’s teeth as healthy as possible between annual cleanings.  We can even apply a barrier sealant after your pet’s cleaning that will prevent tartar and plaque under the gum line, where it does the most damage, for 6 full months.  Together we can develop a plan that works for both you and your pet.

You deserve to enjoy lots of close snuggles with your best friend once again. The professional dental services at Creature Comforts Animal Hospital can help get you there! Call today!

This place has my absolute, 100% recommendation. We have a very dog aggressive German Shepherd who is even reactive to strangers on occasion. After being declined care by two other clinics, I was advised to try Creature Comforts. It’s been the best experience. From the second we got through the side door, we(and Jaeger) were treated with total respect and the best care we’ve ever received. Dr Gibson and staff let our Jaeger come back to the room and rest between exams and treatment so that he would not become overly stressed out. Because everyone was so calm and well equipped to handle the situation, Jaeger was calm as well.

I have full confidence in this clinic and the staff. And I can’t think them enough for how they handled our situation. Thank you, again and again ❤️

Everyone is kind and helpful, they make sure you're pet is comfortable and all needs are met. Kiwi love's going there and she makes sure everyone will give here the belly rubs she wants before she decided it's time to go home. The staff spoils her. Thank you for a great experience we received every time we come.

    very happy with this vet.
chose them as many rescued animals have been taken here for care.
staff always friendly and get my pup in and out on timely manner.
    prices affordable too.
took my pup as "squeeze in" the day she ate her new chewy toy.
    terrier terror!
dr franco saved me expensive diagnostics by thorough hands on exam. layla had no sign symptoms of distress. she instructed me on after care and just to watch for any pain, vomiting, etc.
    thankfully, no complications.
very happy with care, value received.
