Exotic Pets

Here at Creature Comforts Animal Hospital, we serve a large variety of pets.

It can be difficult to find veterinarians who are knowledgeable with the variety of exotic animals now kept as pets. Look no further, we can care for the majority of species kept as pets. Many exotic species are vastly different from dogs and cats medically, and someone familiar with them is important both when they are sick and well. Many of the illnesses seen in these special pets come from the environment or diet not being correct. Unfortunately, often the pet store fails to appropriately educate a new owner on how to care for their new pet correctly. If your pet is well, bring it in for a check up today and we can help ensure your pet has everything it needs to thrive.

At Creature Comforts, we have specialized equipment just for our exotic patients. From an anesthetic machine designed solely for our tiniest of patients to habitats that provide appropriate heating and lighting, your pet will be cared for with the special needs of your pet in mind. We stock a variety of medicine just for exotics, including multiple medical treatment options for ferrets with adrenal disease. We are also experienced at removing adrenal tumors and insulinomas surgically.

We work with most exotic species. Whether you have a pet bird ( including chickens, ducks, wildlife or raptors), a small mammal, a reptile, or a farm pet (including pot bellied pigs, sheep, and goats), we can care for your pet. We are currently the veterinarian for the Desert Tortoise Group as well as working with the US Fish and Wildlife Services and their Desert Tortoise population.
